A draft government decision has been published for public discussion, proposing updates to the procedures governing mandatory military conscription in Armenia.
The proposed changes are intended to align existing regulations with recent amendments to legislation concerning military service and the status of servicemen. According to the draft, certain decisions related to exemptions and deferments from compulsory military service would be handled by territorial military commissars as part of efforts to streamline administrative processes.
The proposal also includes updates reflecting several government decisions adopted in recent years regarding the organization of conscription and military service.
Officials state that the planned changes are aimed at improving efficiency, supporting ongoing reforms in the defense sector, and enhancing the management of human resources within the armed forces.
According to the draft, the implementation of these measures is not expected to create additional costs for the state budget.
