Russia’s Ministry of Defense has claimed that two Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jets were destroyed during a strike on the Voznesensk airfield in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv region.
According to the ministry, the strike occurred while preparations for flight operations were underway. Russian officials stated that one aircraft was reportedly parked outside a reinforced shelter and equipped with munitions, while the second was allegedly being refueled inside the shelter.
The ministry further claimed that the operation involved two unmanned aerial vehicles and that additional equipment at the airfield, including a fuel tanker and ground support equipment, was also destroyed.
The claims have not been independently verified, and Ukrainian authorities had not publicly commented on the reported incident at the time of publication.
