Medvedev Warns of Consequences if Armenia-Russia Ties Are Severed

Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has said that a breakdown in Armenia’s established ties with Russia would have «serious consequences» for ordinary citizens.

According to Russian state media, Medvedev argued that Western countries view Armenia primarily as a geopolitical partner in their broader strategy toward Russia. He also claimed that the West seeks to weaken political forces that support close relations between Moscow and Yerevan.

Medvedev further alleged that Western countries had influenced Armenia’s political process and stated that Russia would assess the intentions of the Armenian authorities based on their actions.

The remarks reflect Medvedev’s views and come amid ongoing discussions over Armenia’s foreign policy and its relations with both Russia and Western partners. No response from Armenian officials was included in the reported statements.
