Rescue teams have recovered the body of a 21-year-old man who drowned at Goghtanik Waterfall in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Province.
According to local reports, the young man, identified as Ara K., a resident of Vayots Dzor, entered the water to swim before drowning at the waterfall.
Emergency services received a report at around 4:40 p.m. that a 21-year-old had fallen into the water at the Goghtanik area. Rescue personnel from Yerevan, assisted by a specialized diver, launched a search operation and located the victim’s body after approximately 30 minutes.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are being reviewed by the relevant authorities.
