Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Yerevan’s Erebuni district as 20-year-old Vahe Mkrtchyan, a local resident of the district.
According to local reports, a 15-year-old boy who was injured during the incident is also believed to have been connected to the events, with reports indicating that his injuries were not accidental.
The shooting occurred on July 18 near Muratsan Street, where more than 30 gunshots were reportedly fired. Emergency responders also discovered an unexploded hand grenade at the scene, prompting the deployment of bomb disposal specialists to secure the area.
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has confirmed that a criminal investigation has been launched on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and the illegal possession and circulation of firearms.
Officials also announced that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the case. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
