Armenia’s Ministry of Economy has issued a public notice for residents of Ararat Province, informing them of a planned aerial pesticide spraying operation aimed at controlling locust populations.
According to the ministry, the operation will begin at 7:00 a.m. on July 28, 2026, in areas surrounding the following communities:
Verin Dvin
Dvin
Norashen
Hnaberd
Getazat
To ensure public safety during the spraying, the ministry advises residents to:
Temporarily relocate or keep beehives in a safe location on the day of the operation.
Avoid grazing livestock in the treated areas.
Limit people’s presence in the spraying zones until the work has been completed, where possible.
Follow all safety recommendations and instructions provided by local community officials.
The aerial treatment is part of ongoing efforts to protect agricultural land and crops from damage caused by locust infestations.
