A mother saw how her ex’s girlfriend was treating her daughter and couldn’t sit still, so she wrote this letter

Breakups and divorces are usually a messy business. When two people go on separate ways, no matter what the reasons, it usually has an effect that can affect the whole family.

This includes inevitable tension between the stepparents and the parents. As people move on with life and find new love, it’s not uncommon for bitterness to build up, making everything worse for everyone involved, including the children.

Of course, this is not always the case. There are wonderful examples where two people agree to separate and not only stay in good touch, but accept and embrace the new life of their ex-partners. The loving Henry family is a wonderful example of this..

Audrey Lobbing and Corey Henry met when they were 18. They eventually got engaged, before giving birth to their daughter, Riley, who is now 4.

Unfortunately, irreconcilable differences led to their separation. Audrey got full custody of Riley — because of the distance between her and Corey — but Corey is still an active father on a regular basis.

A new girlfriend

When Henry met someone new, and the two started dating, he would have been forgiven for thinking it was a sensitive subject.

But it was Audrey who explained to Riley that she needed to accept and love the new member of the family. Since Audrey also grew up in a home of divorced parents, she knew the stress that can be on a child when there is hatred between the mother and the stepmother.

Listening to her mom, Riley formed a wonderful bond with her father’s new girlfriend. Audrey wrote a post on Facebook not only to praise her daughter, but also the woman who will be the other mother figure in her life.

«This is my daughters fathers girlfriend. The sweetest thing ever! I’m super thankful for her because when she visits her dad she feeds her, takes care of her, buys her gifts, and basically takes care of her like her own. Why do all these moms act so spiteful and jealous towards the other women?

NOONE said it was easy trying to be a mother to a kid you didn’t have. So when there is someone trying, don’t push them away! Because they DON’T need the drama they WILL leave and then you’re stuck with someone who is the evil step mom. Yes they exist! I see them everywhere! A kid can have two moms because in my eyes the more people that love her I’m happy! I would never make her feel like an outsider; I’m extremely thankful for this girl.

Ladies, grow up and focus on being a good mom. Love more hate less!»

The post received thousands of comments from others telling Audrey what a wonderful person she is. And we have to agree! Not all people behave in such a mature way, but the things that Audrey did mean that Riley will grow up in a bubble of love and appreciation, instead of growing up in a place of grumbling and arguments.

What an amazing mother you are!
