Before its official debut, Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, encountered a major hurdle—a trademark refusal.
According to The Telegraph, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) denied their application because trademarking the name of a geographical location is not permitted for businesses.
Meghan, Prince Harry, and their two children reside in Santa Barbara, California, an area often referred to as the «American Riviera.»
This news came around the same time Prince William made his first public appearance following the summer break, where he sported some noticeable stubble while visiting a homelessness exhibit.
William’s scruffy look first appeared in a surprise video last month, where he and Kate congratulated Team GB on their Olympic achievements.
His more laid-back appearance stirred online chatter, with some royal fans urging him to keep the stubble, while others joked that he looked like he was still in «vacation mode.»
