Tammy Slayton, known for her larger size, recently chose to wear an open dress, drawing attention.
Tammy and her sister, Amy Slayton, are the stars of the popular American reality show 1,000 Pound Sisters, which documents their journey as two women battling extreme obesity.
Now aged 34 and 35, Tammy and Amy have spent the past several years allowing millions of viewers into their lives, hoping to lose weight and transform their future.
Over the course of three seasons, the sisters faced intense struggles with addiction and their own bodies. Amy, who has been more successful in shedding pounds and undergoing surgery, has seen the most progress.
At the start of filming, Tammy weighed around 275 kg and Amy weighed 185 kg, with Amy already having lost roughly 50 kg. While Amy’s weight steadily declined, Tammy’s continued to rise, bringing her close to 300 kg. Her health deteriorated as a result, leading to her admission to a specialized rehabilitation facility in Ohio to address both her weight and the lung issues caused by her severe obesity.
Currently, Tammy is receiving treatment at the facility, focusing on both her weight loss and respiratory complications. Despite her challenges, Tammy remains dedicated to her personal goals, regularly updating fans on social media with lighthearted videos and sharing encouraging updates about her progress.
It was during her time in the treatment center that Tammy met her fiancé, Caleb Willingham. This was her first relationship that didn’t begin through online dating. The two grew close, and Caleb eventually proposed, leading to a wedding ceremony held at the same clinic where they first met.
Their shared experiences have helped them form a deep connection. Friends of the couple remark how supportive they are of one another and describe their bond as inspiring.
The wedding was an intimate affair, with only close family and friends in attendance, including Amy, who has achieved significant weight loss, is married, and now has a child.
