A serious traffic accident occurred on May 22 in Armenia’s Tavush region.
According to preliminary reports, the crash took place at around 7:10 p.m. on the Yerevan–Sevan–Ijevan highway near the village of Teghut, where a UAZ vehicle and a Lada collided.
Local residents were the first to assist those involved in the accident before emergency medical teams from Dilijan Medical Center arrived at the scene. A total of 12 people were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Reports from the scene indicate that the Lada was thrown off the roadway and ended up in a nearby field following the collision.
A criminal investigation has been launched by the Dilijan investigative department to determine the identities of the drivers, vehicle owners, and injured individuals.
According to local reports, children were also among the injured.
