

A major traffic accident occurred on May 24 in Armenia’s Ararat region, resulting in the death of a young child and multiple injuries.
According to reports from the scene, the crash happened at around 7:00 p.m. on the Urtsadzor–Shaghap road in the enlarged Vedi community, where a GAZ 3110 and a VAZ 2121 vehicle collided.
Four people were transported to Vedi Medical Center with injuries of varying severity. Local residents and rescuers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Vedi fire and rescue unit were reportedly the first to assist the victims.
Police patrol officers also arrived at the scene and secured the area while emergency response operations were underway.
Later, police received information from the hospital that a 1.5-year-old boy injured in the crash had died without regaining consciousness.
A criminal investigation has been launched by the Investigative Committee’s Vedi division to determine the identities of the drivers, vehicle owners, injured individuals, and the deceased child.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
