
A tragic traffic accident occurred on May 28 in Armenia’s Aragatsotn region.
According to preliminary reports, the crash happened at around 1:40 p.m. on the Ashtarak–Yerznka highway, where a BMW vehicle left the roadway, overturned several times, and ended up upside down in a ravine.
An 18-year-old resident of Kotayk region, identified as Ashot S., died at the scene.
Three other young passengers — 18-year-old Harutyun H. from Kotayk region, 16-year-old Rafael A. from Yerevan, and 18-year-old Davit T. from Yerevan — were injured and transported to Ashtarak Medical Center with injuries of varying severity.
Local residents and emergency medical teams were reportedly the first to assist the victims.
A criminal investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
According to local reports, the young men were traveling with friends to celebrate one of the injured passenger’s birthday.
