The latest five-day weather forecast indicates periods of rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in parts of Yerevan and several regions of Armenia between August 16 and August 20, 2026. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly during this period.
Weather in Yerevan
In Yerevan, short periods of rain and thunderstorms are expected in some parts of the city during the evening of August 16 and the night of August 17.
During thunderstorms, wind speeds could increase significantly, reaching 18-23 meters per second.
Dry weather without precipitation is expected during the night of August 16, the daytime hours of August 17, and from August 18 through August 20.
Strong winds may remain a notable feature of the weather in the capital. From August 16 through August 20, evening wind speeds are expected to increase to approximately 15-18 meters per second.
Weather Across Armenia
In the regions of Armenia, brief rain and thunderstorms are forecast in some areas during the nighttime and afternoon hours from August 16 through August 20.
On August 16 and 17, precipitation could become heavy in some locations. Hail is also possible during this period.
Winds will generally be from the northeast and east at speeds of 4-7 meters per second. During thunderstorms, however, gusts could strengthen considerably and reach 20-25 meters per second.
From August 16 through August 20, stronger evening winds are also expected in Armavir Province, the foothill areas of Aragatsotn and Kotayk provinces, and some parts of Shirak Province. Wind speeds in these areas could reach 17-20 meters per second.
According to the forecast, air temperatures are not expected to change significantly across Armenia during the five-day period.
Residents in areas where thunderstorms are forecast should take the possibility of strong wind gusts, heavy rainfall and localized hail into account when planning outdoor activities.
