A distressing video involving a father and son from Armenia’s Armavir region has attracted widespread attention online. The footage reportedly showed the two men living in extremely difficult conditions, with concerns raised about their access to food, medical assistance and appropriate care.
In the video, a 57-year-old man could be seen lying on the ground and apparently unable to move, sit up or speak. His elderly father was heard asking for assistance and requesting that medical help be provided to his son.
The footage was published by Arkadi Kirakosyan, co-founder of the “For Your Future” NGO.
Kirakosyan said that the video had originally been sent to him by a citizen who raised concerns about the conditions in which the two men were living.
According to the information previously provided, the 57-year-old man was not admitted for inpatient treatment at Armavir Medical Center and was subsequently transported to Hospital No. 8 in Yerevan.
Meanwhile, the whereabouts of his elderly father had initially been unknown, and law enforcement officers were searching for him.
Kirakosyan later provided an update, saying that police officers had located the elderly man.
“I have reached an agreement with a care center to have him transferred there, and we are currently working on that,” Kirakosyan said.
According to the latest available information, efforts are now underway to arrange the elderly father’s transfer to the care facility, while his 57-year-old son has been taken to Yerevan for medical care.
