Gas supply has been temporarily suspended in several communities of Armenia’s Ararat Province after an underground gas pipeline was damaged during excavation work carried out by another organization.
According to Gazprom Armenia, a medium-pressure underground gas pipeline was damaged during the work, requiring an emergency interruption of gas service.
As a result, gas supply was suspended from 1:45 PM on August 17 for consumers in the communities of Azatashen, Geghanist, Getapnya and Arbat.
The interruption also affects various public and commercial organizations operating in and around the affected communities.
Gazprom Armenia said that emergency repair work is being carried out to address the damage to the pipeline.
The company did not specify an exact time for the restoration of service.
According to the announcement, gas supply will be restored after the emergency repair work has been completed.
Consumers in the affected communities are therefore advised to take the temporary interruption into account until repair crews complete the necessary work and gas service can be safely restored.
