Two earthquakes were recorded in Georgia within a short period of time, according to information from the country’s seismic monitoring center.
The second earthquake occurred at 9:09 AM Tbilisi time. Its epicenter was located near the village of Alatumani, about 18 kilometers north of Akhalkalaki.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 3.0 and occurred at a depth of approximately 5 kilometers.
Shortly before that, at 8:52 AM, another earthquake was recorded near the village of Balanta, approximately 21 kilometers from Aspindza.
The two seismic events occurred just 17 minutes apart.
No information on casualties or damage was included in the initial reports.
