Former US President Jimmy Carter has decided to forgo further medical treatment and transition into hospice care. According to a statement from the Carter Center, the 98-year-old will be moved to a hospice following «a series of short hospital stays.»

The statement read, «Today, Former US President Jimmy Carter opted to spend his remaining time at home with his family, choosing hospice care over continued medical interventions.»
