The U.S. Embassy in Armenia has reminded immigrant visa applicants that U.S. immigration law requires all applicants to undergo a medical examination as part of the visa process.
According to the embassy, the medical screening is conducted to protect public health and to comply with the requirements of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Officials explained that the examination is intended to identify infectious diseases that may pose a public health risk and help prevent their spread in the United States.
The embassy also noted that the process confirms applicants have received the required vaccinations, helping protect both the applicants themselves and the wider U.S. population.
