A mysterious death investigation was launched in Armenia’s Gegharkunik region early on May 22 after a young woman was found dead inside a vehicle near the Chambarak crossroads on the Yerevan–Sevan–Ijevan highway.
According to police information, officers received reports at around 12:10 a.m. that a body had been discovered inside a parked Mercedes G-Class vehicle near the “Khachmeruk” facility.
Law enforcement officers and investigators arrived at the scene, where they found the body of a young woman in the back seat of the vehicle. Investigators also reported discovering traces resembling blood inside the car.
Authorities later identified the deceased as 22-year-old Marianna B., a resident of Yerevan. The vehicle was reportedly driven by 21-year-old Hayk G., also from Yerevan.
According to preliminary information, the driver underwent a sobriety examination and was found to be under the influence of alcohol and without a valid driver’s license.
A criminal investigation has been launched by Armenia’s Investigative Committee. Local reports also claim that the young woman was pregnant.
Officials have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
