A deadly incident occurred on May 26 in the village of Norapat in Armenia’s Armavir region, leaving three people dead.
According to preliminary information provided by Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, emergency services received a report at 11:37 a.m. that injured individuals had been found near the village cemetery.
Police officers who arrived at the scene determined that a dispute over domestic issues had broken out among several individuals. During the confrontation, one person allegedly stabbed a 63-year-old woman.
Authorities say that afterward, the woman’s son used a legally registered hunting rifle and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of three people.
Following the incident, the 38-year-old resident of Norapat voluntarily appeared at the Armavir Community Police Department, confessed to the shooting, and handed over the weapon to law enforcement officers.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the case.
