Traffic Restrictions to Be Introduced in Yerevan on May 28–29

Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced extensive traffic restrictions in Yerevan on May 28 and 29 due to Republic Day events.

According to the ministry, traffic limitations will be in effect on May 28 from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in several central streets and intersections of the capital.

Restricted areas will include:

Athens Street – Mashtots Avenue – Amiryan Street section
Republic Square and all streets leading into the square
Amiryan Street – Tigran Mets Avenue – Agatangeghos Street – Grigor Lusavorich Street – Argishti Street – Athens Street route
Shahumyan Square toward Khorenatsi and Agatangeghos streets
Tigran Mets Avenue – Mher Mkrtchyan Street – Khorenatsi Street – Italia Street – former “Mayrakaghakayin” regiment area
Streets surrounding Republic Square, including Zakyan, Amiryan, Abovyan, Arami, Nalbandyan, Sakharov Square, Melik-Adamyan, Beirut, Italia, Khorenatsi, Agatangeghos, and Vazgen Sargsyan streets

Authorities also noted that the Republic Square – Tigran Mets Avenue – Kristapor intersection section will remain closed until 1:00 a.m. on May 29.

Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes and expect temporary traffic disruptions in central Yerevan during the holiday events.
